Care Guide

Daphne Huguette pieces are made to last. Our pieces use high quality metals containing recycled 9ct, 14ct, 18ct yellow gold. Please find below some general tips and information on how to take care of solid gold.

General Care Tips

  • Put your jewellery in a dry box when not wearing it. Avoid extreme heat and humidity.
  • Remove your jewellery before swimming in a pool or ocean.
  • Remove when using household cleaning products (bleach, cleaning chemicals)
  • Remove when going to the gym
  • Don’t use creams, perfume, hairspray around your jewellery

Gold

Solid gold does not fade in colour, and is perfect for daily wear. However, with daily wear, the metal can become dull. It is recommended to clean the metal with a solid gold cloth provided. To make the piece shiny again, please use a tiny bit of mild soap liquid with warm luke or boiling water with a little bit of ammonia. Put your jewellery into the water and let it soak for 5-10 minutes. Gently brush your jewellery with a soft toothbrush. Rinse it with clean water.

White Gold and Platinum

White Gold

White gold is coated with rhodium to give it its bright, white finish. To keep it looking its best:

  • Avoid chemicals: Remove your ring when cleaning, swimming, or applying beauty products.
  • Rhodium plating: Over time, the white finish may fade. Replating every 1–2 years keeps it bright.
  • Cleaning: Wash with warm water and mild soap, gently scrub with a soft toothbrush, then dry with a soft cloth.
  • Storage: Keep rings in a soft pouch or separate compartment to prevent scratches.

Platinum

Platinum is naturally white, durable, and develops a beautiful patina over time. To care for it:

  • Everyday wear: Platinum is strong, but scratches can appear as a natural, soft patina.
  • Cleaning: Clean with warm water and mild soap, using a soft toothbrush, and polish with a jewellery cloth for shine.
  • Storage: Store separately to avoid scratching other pieces.
